WERE
GONNA WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
In
the words of Stilwell with a childish tone yes, “We're gonna Win”. The reason
we're going to win is because no matter how bad it gets, Ward has the capability
of winning when you least expect it. I am very well aware of the fact that
things aren't going well as far as setups go …. So you can look at it like
Ward has a chance because the car setups have been getting better along with the
pit stops. That really doesn’t mean shit now does it. Well for me it does, but
to win from the 28th position which is as far back as any one has won
before is highly unlikely. In the past when he had a year of absolutely bad luck and bad run after
bad run, Ward had managed to win two races. This year has been as bad as it gets.
Ward is back with the Schraders and Pettys of racing and is eliminated from the
top ten mathematically. What we’re talking about here is no one in their right
mind would predict Ward to win the race. I’m telling you right now. Take away
a blown engine and blown tranny and Ward would have two wins right now. This is the
week Ward shines and brings home the beef. Nope, no motor problems, sterling pit
stops and yes no mechanical problems. Marty triple dog dared me to do this when
I called it, so how can a man resist? I’m calling it and I’ll post it on the
board after he wins. Will I have to say “Oh damn another blown tranny or
something along those lines? Hell NO! I will post Ward won, I called it and
the rest of the world can go eat shit. I can go on and on but I won’t.

“GOING REBEL’’
I wrote this whip before the page went
down and now that some shit that has happened over at WardBurton.com I must
finish. What you see below is what I wrote before my page went down after
reading that you will see what I have added after the page was returned safely
to the internet.
I’ve been putting this off for quite a while. This, for many people may be nothing but a paranoid rambling
of bewilderment. I know for quite a
few folks this will be something a long time coming. By the end of this whip if
you don’t know what going rebel means then you about might be dead.
As you all know who have been here for “YEARS” , I don’t hold back
a hell of a lot. Actually I do. I have been running this page for years and
asked for nothing back. I have gotten back more then you can imagine. The people
I have met in person and have become friends with is more then anyone can understand.
I appreciate beyond all cognizance, the loyalty that’s been received by
all who visit 22fastforward.com.
My problem is WB.COM! I know I have whipped yahoo, the official club and
this can be considered sour grapes. I
don’t want to make this just a contention but, when the things I’ve seen
happen I have to get up and say “What the F###!!!!
Number I: WARD BOARD
I think I have heard and seen that name before.
I’m well aware that Ward is the driver we all root for and what we post
on, is a board. I used that as the name of the message board which has been
around for years then WB.COM uses that as their actual link to all their message
boards. Please let me have something that I started?
Number II: My old regulars. How I ask can you make
someone a Moderator of your board when you are “OFFICIAL”?
Let me tell you how! This is only conjecture but
The ones I see as moderators are, and I’m not
mentioning any names but they are long time visitors and posters @
22fastforward.com. The ones who
posted more than anyone else for the most part. I lost them to WB.COM because
they are obviously looking for the recognition that I can no longer give here @
22fastforward.com. Did they leave
because someone who will remain anonymous made
them board moderators? I think so! If
they posted here and not just there @ wardburton.com I wouldn’t be so pissed.
Guess what ? They left and never posted here again, I say sianara! I am still baffled how one can make regular fans moderators
on an official site.
Number 3: WILD
CATS
Oh “WILD CATS” Where have I heard that term
before. You can go to wb.com and
become a “WILD CAT” funny thing is my buddy
Darrell “HAMM” came up with that so many years ago that I can hardly
remember. Like Hell I can’t remember! How
in the world can you go somewhere else in cyber space with hundreds of people
and not come up with something original? I saw Burton babes and to be honest I
don’t remember any of the other names. Someone mentions well on “THE OTHER
BOARD” someone called us girls “WILD CATS” Now you can become one and have
a T-Shirt and a sticker showing your “WILD CAT” ways.
I say huraaaa for you. They
say flattery will get you no where or get you everywhere. I for one am pissed. I
haven’t talked to my buddy Hamm about this issue but I’m pretty sure he
wouldn’t appreciate the name he chose taken from the site which he co masters.
Hamm can speak for himself, don’t get pissed at him for my ramblings.
Let
me now say, what I see is that if you own or have procured the latest Die Cast
or Cat boots or T-Shirt that doesn’t make you a “REAL FAN” that only makes
you a TRUE fan or so I’ve heard. I know someone who has more die cast then
anyone can conjure up and she simply lets people know what’s up in the world
of collectables.
Because you have a shrine and post all the time on
a message board doesn’t make you a “REAL Fan”
You stop by, say hello talk a little bit about racing and your more than
welcome to join me and a few of my remaining friends here @ 22FASTFORWARD.COM.
All I have to say now is, If your gonna dance with the devil be prepared
to dance! Oh am I the
devil? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm……………
Lets all ponder that one.
“GOING REBEL”
Now this is what I have to add
If anyone has noticed and I’m assuming a-lot
did. On wb.com I simply posted there that my page is down and if you didn’t
know my email and was wondering what was up with the page it is down and I’m
working on it.
I got a few replies about welcoming me to the
board and it’s ok I can post there anytime. As much as it was appreciated I
really don’t want to post there. I’m very happy with the page I have and
have no desire to post over there. The main reason is because of the people who
bailed on me. The same people who said 22fastforward.com WAS the best ward site
are the same ones saying that wb.com is now “The best ward site on the net”
Actually it was one person and I don’t have to mention a name.
A lot of people left my site and never came back
that tells me I’m a dirty old rag that’s
been used long enough and is no longer needed.
Sorry but that’s not a place I want to go to. What was said to me was
considered a cheap shot by Marty, at least he was the one that said it. I felt
the same way and a few people agreed, that post over there a lot. Doesn’t that
stand for something I ask?
Well Marty’s post’s got deleted so no more can
someone take his comment for what it was worth.
Saying welcome to the best ward site to the web master of a Ward site
that is still kicking and current, is just a plan cheap shot.
If you don’t understand that I really can’t help you out there.
Now people are saying why the need for competition? Well let’s see. I
can ask you to ask Chad Martin, Brian Kielman, Jethro/Matt and a few others to
answer that question. You don’t spend hundreds of dollars and thousands of
hours working on a page to be ignored. Just ask Chad, thanx to him that’s
where I found other Ward fans. Brian also and he still has a site and it’s
pretty good. Jethro has his going.
Brian doesn’t have a link to my site because
he’s worried that the people might not come back to his site. I know Brian and
have talked to him on the phone and we came close to joining our efforts but he
wanted the same control over the page as I did so it never happened. There were
no hard feelings, just you do your thing and I’ll do mine. So here it is. If
people didn’t bail on me then I wouldn’t even think of WB.COM as
competition. To be honest I never brought it up, it was brought up by the
posters on the thread I speak of. You shouldn’t have to compete with an
official site. People should go there and still hang around fan pages. After all
we are the ones that let them do their thing and keep them going.
Now I consider WB.COM my competition but it really doesn’t matter does
it.

DAYTONA 2003
Ok, Decided to do a whip sober for once, Hee Hee.
Obviously not a lot of
Gotta say I was a bit taken back that they got Spencer to be Darrels chil. you
dont know by now I about get sick when I hear Boogity Boogity Boogity.
Does anyone actually belive that Spencer thinks Gentlman start your Engines pales in comparison to Boogity Boogity Boogity? I thought Jimmy was choking on a bone when he said that. Not sure exactly what he did say but you get the point. I know it was done in fun but this is totally getting out of hand. To have a driver say that that Boogity is better than the old stand by is just plain sick. Well I timed it just right turning down the volume on the TV when it’s time for that dribble and will do it from now on. Darrell you are truly a disappointment!
Don’t forget Mickey ain’t the only driver out there. Yeah Right who am I kidding?

Sports Figures
Crew
Chief
You’ll notice at the ardor of Sandi I put up a new Poll. The question is basically do we want to get rid of Tommy if the right replacement comes along. I put down who the hell cares because that’s the choice I’m going with. Let me explain since I never really gave my opinion whenever the topic has been brought up. “Who the Hell cares” should be enough but it isn’t. Since I have been a race fan, I’ve been a Ward fan. I hated this thing called Nascar till I went to a Pocono race at the urging of my friends and Wife. Long story short I went with Ward, became a Nascar idiot like all the rest of us. Ward was a rookie so I never knew of him before he came to cup. Couldn’t tell you then and couldn’t tell you now who his crew chief was until Hussey came along. I listened to him on the radio not help Ward out that much and witnessed plenty of bad runs but knew at least he was gonna get Ward in the show and that’s all I cared about. I rooted for him to just finish, lead a lap, Win, Finish a lap down finish 1st two laps down. Just finish the damn race as good as you can. That’s all I wanted and right now that’s all I want. Yeah no high expectations just finish the damn race. Now you’ve heard it from the horse’s mouth. I don’t care who the crew chief is because I don’t care if Ward wins the Cup or another race. I just want to see him run around the track make some passes and maybe win a race or the cup. I’m a long shot Fan, root for the under dog. I’m a Colts fan, White Sox Fan, Flyers Fan, John Daly fan, Used to be a Payne Stewart fan but he’s gone now dammit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes some of those teams or guys have reached the pinnacle but when I started to root for them They were not even close. You can all say that John Daly bursted on the sceen and I jumped on his band wagon but I had his rookie card a year before he won the PGA Championship. Saw him while watching my Putting guru idol Ben Crenshaw, couldn’t believe a man can hit a ball that far and said that’s my boy I’m riding that horse till he bucks me off. Well He’s bucked himself off many times but he keeps coming back and I’m right there waiting for his next good showing. Just like Ward I’ll be there and I know all of you will be also. My thing is I don’t care who the Crew Chief is.

"WARD BURTON
SUCKS"
As I sat in my chair, back in 1980, awaiting a speech from our favorite
teacher, I was hoping to get out of there with my diploma. Awaiting
graduation it was time. He started off with "GO TO HELL SENIORS".
Imagine my
surprise, as well as the many in attendance. What he was doing is preparing
us for what is about to come. "It sure as heck isn't a bed of roses"
The rest
was a blur. In the same vein this is why I chose the title you see for this
installment of my whip.
At Pocono, and every other track that he has been run over at, I've seen it.
Ten, count 'em ten freak'en times he has been taken out of a race due to
being able to see over his hood which no other driver has had the capability
to do. He hits the brakes and sure enough someone runs his ass over. Blame it
on the cars behind ya' Ward, yes it's their fault for not checking up. Be the
nice gentleman making sure that the car in front of you makes it through the
next lap. Please remember that there will be at least 5, 6 or maybe more cars
that are going
to hit the wall or get run over as well. I say if your gonna get {runned}
over,
you may as well run over the guy who can't race worth a lick in front of you.
All I want to see is the guy who can't handle a turn with his car, get out of
the way instead of causing a big wreck. If it happens to be a car in front of
you, I say run his ass over Ward or you'll never win that Championship that
you so deserve. If Ward ends up wrecked because he drove through the car
messing everything up, so be it. He's got a better chance of getting through
if he has the foot pegged to the floor. If a guy like Tony Stewart can run
with the flame and be the man people look up to, Ward definitely can do it
too. The way he runs his car and his mouth and be so beloved, it
kind of
makes you feel like what Ward does is a waste. Until Ward spins the lap a
down boys out of the way he will suck.
Point of information, if you haven't figured out what "Ward Burton
Sucks"
means, I guess you haven't followed along. To give you a hint, when you see
Ward spin a car and end up winning a race and the car that was a lap down end
up in the garage, "Ward will not suck".
"FASTER THEN A GREASED PIG DOWN A HILL"
Here I sit seeing the 22 Caterpillar Dodge tearing up Daytona practice with a
car that in comparison has been quite torn up itself. "If you build it they
will come". Take that phrase "If they rebuild it, it will Win"
How many times
can they rebuild that car that so swiftly glides through the field and
dominates
when it gets there? Till the end of Ward's career. This car, whatever number
it is, or whatever name they call it is as good as it gets in the world of
racing. I once heard Jeff Gordon say, "Ward and that team just know how to
get around here @ Darlington. Well, when he finishes 1st and brings home the
Daytona 500 trophy someone else, if not Jeffy, will say the same about Ward @
Daytona.
Like a bullet where ever Ward starts on the grid @ Daytona be sure he will be
up front for many a lap. It's one thing to lead the last lap at Daytona but
this year you will see not only Ward Burton leading the last lap but many of
them along the way.
Ok, I'm done for now. Just had to get that off my chest. I bitched, I
complained, I surmised, I summerized. I pontificated, I'm exasperated. Like a
tempest in a teapot I will go away for now and wallow in my Hell
Hole.
10/17/2001
You simply have to stay away from the topic of the 3 car or
Goodwrench
I guess. It's time to take a few shots at Harvick to say the very least.
Lets see, Harvick gets tapped by Bobby Hamilton, one of the few decent
gentlemen on the circuit. Bobby, who btw does very well at Martinsville,
comes up on the number 29 with very old and beat up tires. Harvick
has to get out of the gas in the turn because he's of course on the
old tires
and gets a bump from Bobby (who does have new tires).
He barely loosens him up and within 5 seconds Bobby spins and Harvick
puts him almost into the wall. Nascar in it's infinite wisdom makes the
29 car
sit for a one lap penalty.
Good job Nascar for doing what you should have been doing a long
time ago. The race comes to an end. Hamilton gives what could be
called a "trulogy." He says "We have one talented young man who's
trying to fill Earnhardt's shoes and wouldn't be a scab on his butt."
I couldn't have said it better myself. Harvick, in his for all unintended
purposes
of being a complete idiot, says " Well I think the call had
something to do with the stripe on the back of the car. Geee Harvick,
have you
thought about all the people you have put into the wall and
gotten away with it because of the car you drive. I rooted strongly for
Kevin when he won soon after getting in the car driven by another
"put them in the wall" driver. Now, and for a while, I can't stand the
way he drives or his attitude. We all know he would have most likely
missed this race and he was drivi'n like he did miss it. That's what
pisses me of the most. He happen stances his way into the race and
drives
like he has nothing to lose and of course he didn't.
Well buddy, there are 42 other drivers out there and you'd better have
respect for those drivers or your gonna be pickin your ass up off the
concrete or asphalt. The way things are going, in this sport we love so
much, scares the hell out of me. I have said before that this sport is
turning into the guy who gets the so called fans and grabs the media's
attention can get away with anything. Well this time they woke up and
made the right call. Don't look for this to happen again because Nascar
loves the ones that are loved for whatever stupid reason. It's a crying
shame, a Bloody damn shame.
This is not good for our sport! Eye for an eye was another quote of
Kevin's. If that was true for every other racer Ward would have plain
taken him
out of more than one
race along with many others.
8/21/2001
Well, damn I think I've started most of my whips this way but once again
WELL, it's been all year since I did this and Bryan mentioned he has missed
reading some whips so here goes. I basically have nothing on my mind right
now but will wing it as I go. PAUSE!!!!!!
I haven't done a whip because I wanted to do what I'm about to do now and
I knew it is not in my best interest but, in order for me to get going doing
more whips I have to do it. Now this is something I have stayed
away from, YAHOO. Yes the Yahoo clubs. As the Web Master of this page,
going to a Yahoo club especially the supposed official Ward Burton one.
Well I know I'm gonna step on a lot of toes but what the Hell, Thats me.
If I loose some of you because of this rant then all I can say is in the
immortal words of Ward Burton "OH WELL" I've complained about Yahoo
to some of my closest friends that I have met through this page. I mention
that it kills me to get beat by a plain Jane page that has no origionality and
has no content except for a place to put pictures and a message board which,
let me tell you is one of the easiest things to have. Granted I just put one up
with the help of Bryan. I needed help but the one that was up was fine except
for the ad's. I ask why would someone go to a page that didn't let you know
the latest in news, Stats, Points, Hopefully interesting articles, Fan interactive
pages and whatever else you can find on 22fastforward.com. See it wouldn't
bother me so much if this didn't cost so much and take so much time, but it
does. The problem is that people use my page to advertise there Yahoo and
the official. The one great thing about the Yahoo page was that Ward
answered questions and left a journal for all to know what's up and such.
Well thats great but as some have said it's great that a driver would take
time for his fans. Yeah he took the time AND the cash to do it. It wasn't done
out of the goodness of his heart. He was well paid. Now back to the bug up
my rear end. Official wasn't enough, there had to be 5 other lame yahoo pages
and now theres another. That brings me to another point. Yahoo isn't big
enough but people feel free to try and sell their own Yahoo page on my SITE.
Have your lame Yahoo page but I'm not here for you to make your page popular.
I've said it before and I say it again " I spend thousands of hours and dollars
making this what I think is a great place to hang and of course get all you need
for not just Ward but a lot about Nascar. So thats the stuff that crawls up my
butt and pisses me off. You want to advertise then you can help me out by
sending me a nice check and I'll be glad to put up a banner for ya somewhere.
This includes all Ward related pages. Well now I know I just stepped on at
least several toes and I'm sure a lot more but thats just the way it is.
Just so you all don't think I'm trashing Ward about the Journal,
It's about he does get paid and I know he gets paid and also enjoys doing it.
2/21/2000
Well I had a whip for the end of the year written 4 months ago and a good portion was
Dedicated to trashing the driving style of Dale Earnhardt. Some of it was how he gets
Away with all of his antics. Then I went on about how his Son has already gotten away
With some of the same. I guess its a good thing I didnt post because I was close to
Posting it just before Daytona. I wouldnt have felt to good about it at all. Now I look
Back in retrospect even since how I felt Monday. I drive for a living and I couldnt seem
To get the van to go over 55 on the highway and never came close to making a pass.
Something I do on a regular basis by the way. My nerves or lack there of wouldnt
Allow me to take any risk what so ever. The empty feeling in my stomich was something
I have very rarely, thank goodness. Its Wednesday night and by now I would have done
All my editing on the page and would be in the process of doing the Pre Race Report.
Well nothing has been done and I felt I just had to do what Im doing now if not for
Anyone elses entertainment, for my own therapy.
Reading the post night after night and seeing the total class of the great people that
Patronize this page. Saying things I guess I felt but didnt have the guts to say myself.
One after the other I would say to myself, man that was so nice or cool. I would rank
You all up there with any FINE journalist in the world. Speaking of which, Im
Sure you all have read the article that Uncle Terry pointed out to us. Last time a Bone
Head wrote something along those lines I ripped him myself in a whip. Now I will
Digress and let well enough alone. I believe the man who wrote the rebutle article did
Us all well. As far as the respect Ward does or doesnt get, CatMan22 has a solid point.
Once again though seeing the class of the people on this page and knowing all to well
The Class of Ward Burton. The respect he gets from his fans and the type of fans he has.
Ill take that respect and the rest of guys who get the respect that Ward will most likely
Not get I can handle.
Dale Earnhardt, you either Loved or Hated, I chose to Dislike strongly. We always
make a Saint out of a person who has passed and so deserved. The man was a monster
on the track and instilled fear in many a racer. He had his bad moments off the track as
well. All in all he was a great person to his family, friends and fans and took care of many
people who were down on there luck. Thats the true testament of a great man and a
Great man he was. Thanx for making my Sundays exciting Dale.
I will now end this buy simply saying
"SORRY TO SEE YOU GO"
I AM SICK
Not of what has happened out on the track but
what is going on with a bunch
of Ward fans.
I have kept my mouth shut since the whole "What's up with Tommy thing
started." For those of you
who have known me since the old days, before I ever thought of making a page
myself, I was never
one to run away or stay out of a controversy. Since starting this page, I
have kept my big
mouth shut for the most part as to not offend anyone who finds their way to
this site and
enjoys it. That is way to close to being politically correct, which for me is
as far from a cobra
would like to be from a mongoose.
SO HERE'S MY STORY AND I 'M STICKIN' TO IT
I am very well aware of Tommy's faux
pas. There have been a lot of valid
points made on this
issue. There has also been a lot of crap. Mostly crap I have to say. Does
anyone remember the
old days when we were happy to see a top 20 or even top 25? Man it was a
literal celebration for any Ward fan to see Ward finish on the lead lap. I
guess for those who are new fans you expect a lot, and
I can't say I blame you. Here's my problem-- doubting Tommy and questioning
him and Bill Davis. It is just
plain silly. Does anyone actually think Tommy, Ward or BD have no idea about
what is going on?
They know plenty and they are in the process of taking care of it I'm sure.
Things don't happen
over night just like Ward's success. We are 8th in points, 102 out of 5th
have three top 10 finishes
in the last three races. Yeah we should have won the last two or at least two
high top 5's I know,
but come on do we actually expect this team to not slip a little? Oh btw we
have no DNF's!!!!!!!!!
Not too many teams can claim that. That my friends is consistency at it's
best.
When I was a kid I used to have these pains. I know you all had them too.
Mommy or Daddy
would say your growing up son and your havin' something called Growing Pains.
Couple lug nuts
and wrong moves with the wrench--BIG FREAKING DEAL! To me it's like
going
to Pocono and seeing
our Ward run great only to see shit happen to him again. I have learned to
live with it and will always handle
the let downs. I ask you to do the same. I think we need to keep our minds on
pumping up this
team and stop making excuses for them. We are not experts at this nor will
we ever have to make the
decisions that these guys do in a millisecond. It's great being the Monday
morning quarterback isn't It?????? Hind sight is 20/20 and I don't think a
lot are getting that. I value all of your
opinions and it may sound like I'm telling you what to say or not to say.
Without you guys and
gals coming to the page my life would be less fulfilling. I just can't stand
to see negative posts
and even now e-mails being sent to BDR. We are fans, let's get back to being
them
"UNCONDITIONALLY"
As everyone says in their negative posts "I'm a long time fan", "I just
have
to say," and so on.
If your a fan, then be one and move on to next week where we may give 'em
hell or not. Either way
I'll be there rooting and screaming at the TV "Go get 'em Ward, go get 'em
Ward." If a mistake is made
I hope I don't have to read more posts about how this team sucks or how Tommy
made a wrong
decision or messed up I think I'll just go away for a while.
Well, that's about all I have to say for now. I do however have one question
for ya.
Would you all like me to set up a Negative Board and a Positive one so I can
visit
al least one of them??????
A wonderful article by one gigantic bone head
Just a speed bump?
Death more than a Petty concern
Sunday, May 14, 2000
By John Gearan
Telegram & Gazette Sports Columnist
Happy Mother's Day, Pattie, Lynda and Elizabeth
Petty. The Good Ol' Boys of auto racing deliver to
you your son, grandson and great-grandson
Adam, carrying him on a shield as if he were
some war hero killed in an epic battle of national
consequence.
You will be heartbroken and ask why. And
the men folk will shake their heads and tell you
that Adam lost his life playing the sport of his
choosing, like he had gone off for an afternoon of
cricket.
Sport? Indeed, one of America's favorite
pastimes. Watching people hop behind the
wheels of cars that the Registry of Motor Vehicles
rightfully regard as dangerous weapons.
Sport? Ah yes, drivers motoring along on
sharply curved roadways at felonious speeds.
Sport? Spectators craning their red necks
as anticipation builds, awaiting that slight nudge,
that minor bump, that little spark that will explode
into a horrific spectacle.
Now the Good Ol' Boys are mourning not
just one of their own, but the offspring of a
legendary racing family. How did they pay their
respects? By raising and lowering their traditional
flags at the start and finish of yesterday's Busch
200 at the New Hampshire International
Speedway in Loudon.
The day before, Adam, a greenhorn trying to
qualify, smashed into a concrete barrier after
losing control of his red and blue No. 45 Sprint
PCS Chevrolet Monte Carlo at 130 miles an hour.
As widely reported in the media, the
qualifying session continued after the accident.
Yet this was no accident. Accidents are
unforeseeable. In auto racing, wrecks and
collisions and brushes with death are
commonplace, not unexpected.
This sport is nothing more than a legalized
game of chicken that Good Ol' Boys play to prove
their manhood. In chicken, all that's missing is the
advertising and the megabucks for those who
survive.
Last year, Kyle Petty was interviewed about
his son's decision to follow in his skid marks. I
think, he said, it's like any parent when your
16-year-old leaves the driveway for the first time.
It's like, 'Ugh, are they gonna make it back?'
There are more than a few loose lug nuts
rolling around in Kyle Petty's thought processes.
Sending your son or daughter out with the car
contains an element of risk. Life is full of
reasonable risks. But sending your son out to
drive at death-defying speeds is lunacy. There is
a probability that great harm will eventually come
to him. The only fear that comes close is sending
your kid off to the senior prom. And auto racing is
megatimes more frightening.
It's unreal, isn't it? Busch Series points
leader Jeff Green said 45 minutes after the
accident in a story posted on NASCAR Online.
No, Jeff, it is not unreal. What's unreal is
someone making it through one of these
bloodbaths without injury.
So now, on Mother's Day, the women of the
Petty family will cry inconsolably. Hopefully,
Pattie, Lynda and Elizabeth will question the
sanity of this mayhem on wheels that should be
removed from the sports pages and placed with
the rest of the day's hard news. Maybe they will
start an organization like Mothers Against Drunk
Driving.
We have heard all the justifications before.
People, it is argued, have the freedom to do what
they want in a free society. Bogus reasoning.
Government has the power to legislate human
behavior that is inherently dangerous. The
problem is that government is often swayed by
big money, and auto racing is closely allied with
the auto industry.
The Good Ol' Boys will say Adam Petty had
racing in his blood. His great-grand daddy was a
pioneer, his grand daddy is the all-time winningest
driver, and his pa is one of auto racing's free
spirits. All the more reason, I say, they should
have sent Adam in a safer direction.
Others will contend there are dangers in
other activities, perhaps pointing to the recent
controversy about brushback pitches in baseball.
Something should be done about that, too. But
the cold hard fact remains: Only one
major-league player has ever been killed by a
pitched baseball.
Truth be told, auto racing is a death wish on
wheels. We know when we leave pit road we
may not come back, driver Randy Lajoie was
quoted as saying after Petty's death. I thank God
every night I'm alive. Tonight, I'll thank Him twice.
These are frank, honest words. But they
sound like those coming from a World War II
bomber pilot risking his life to preserve our
freedom.
But auto racing? For what? Money. Or to
prove some mechanical theory in a live speed
lab. Or for advertising, which is smeared all over
the coffins these folks drive about in.
In auto racing, death takes no holiday. In
fact, its most revered event, the Indy 500, aptly
falls on Memorial Day weekend.
In auto racing, death is no accident. Add
Adam Petty to the NASCAR funeral pyre of the
last 10 years: John Nemechek, Rodney Orr, Neil
Bonnett, Clifford Allison, J.D. McDuffie.
Other drivers who have been killed over the
last 20 years include Grant Adcox, Gordon
Smiley, Jovy Marcelo, Jedd Krosnoff, Gonzalo
Rodriguez, Greg Moore, Scott Brayton, Gilles
Villeneuve, Ricardo Paletti and Ayrton Senna. And
on and on it goes.
So a mother, grandmother and
great-grandmother ask, Why?
What could we have all done?
Were there any warning signs since Adam
started racing go-carts at age 6?
Two years ago, in a minor-league ASA race,
Adam's crew chief crawled under his car during a
pit stop. When the car came down off the jack,
Petty ran over him. The crew chief was killed, a
death barely noticed in the cruel world of auto
racing, too petty to make much of a fuss about.
"Now for my take on this
ridiculous article"
The man uses his poetic license to make a supposed cute play on words by
saying Adams crew chief death was to PETTY to make a fuss about. Well I
will agree that it was kinda ignored in the media. To use Adams last name
after his death and that it was his crew chief and essentially Adam that did him
in. I find it down right RAW and totally lacking any class what so ever. Now
he says racing is a death wish and people being shocked over the death is not
unreal but expected. Hmmmm, I guess we should just write it off then hu??????
Not quite. The only thing that compares to Racin in his mind as far as equaling
to it's danger is a pitch thrown at a batter to brush him back. Ok I have a few
examples equaling or bettering the danger of being in a race car. Number one,
Receiving a kickoff while 10 guys are ready to knock your head off. Do we all
remember the I believe it was a Seattle Seahawk who was severely injured of killed.
Countless others were paralyzed in the sport. Now there's one of my personal
favorites, Boxing. Ray Boom Boom Mancini
killed a guy in the ring. There's
a sport designed to beat the living hell out of another person. Of course it has
killed many. As he said one person was killed with a pitch. Hundreds of fans
have been killed at soccer games. These are just a few examples of other
headline sports that have had bad consequences. He relegates racing to guys
who are out there for the money and just so they sponsors can have there names
all over what he calls coffins. I guess no
other sport has any kind of sponsorship.
To say racing is not a sport and to diminish it.
Sport? Indeed, one of America's favorite
pastimes. Watching people hop behind the
wheels of cars that the Registry of Motor Vehicles
rightfully regard as dangerous weapons.
"Sport? Ah yes, drivers motoring along on
sharply curved roadways at felonious speeds.
Sport? Spectators craning their red necks
as anticipation builds, awaiting that slight nudge,
that minor bump, that little spark that will explode
into a horrific spectacle."
Well, our boys have class that is unmatched is all of SPORTS today. Being a
hockey fan and a Flyers fan at that. I am embarrassed at the Philly fans
throwing full beers at a coach that was on his way over to say congratz to the
winning team being the Flyers. This sort of thing just doesn't happen in Racing.
Yes we like to see some mild wrecks but I don't think were waiting for a big
wreck or someone's car blowing up. I guess
his definition of a sport is
a game of Chess or something else that doesn't require any kind of physical
ability. There are risks is any sport and people have died in many of them and
to rip on Lee, Richard and Kyle or the Mothers for that fact is just down right
ridiculous. I have a funny feeling that Adam would have raced no matter if he
was not pushed, Encouraged or asked to sit in a car and race balls to the wall.
So I say to this brilliant man who wrote that article, Go sit on your couch and
don't dare cross the street because a bus
might hit you and kill you.
After it does I'll find a way to blame your Mother and Father for giving
birth to you because if they didn't you wouldn't have gotten killed.

BGN SERIES
This has been pissing me off for quite some time, now and it's
time to get it off my chest. Cup boys a while ago were neded to
run in the Busch series because it wasn't that popular. Now that
they helped make the BGN series become a formidable presence
in the sports world it's time they got the hell out. Is anyone sick
of the Rouch show yet???? Martin, Burton & Kenseth, please as
Peter Frampton once sang "I CAN'T STAND IT NO MORE"
Now I know our Ward likes to race in a few and Gordon does as
well. Ward races to keep his associate sponsor happy and Gordon
does to get more seat time at tracks he hasn't won on yet. I have no
problem with those guys however, it should be limited how many
Cup guys can race. Lets make it 5 guys max a race and only guys
in Cup that are out of the top 25 in the Points standings from Cup.
The reason for this is that they can help themselves out with the
extra seat time in a car. Now they may scoff at that saying how are
we gonna know what races to plan on racing. I say who gives a
hoot. They will know by Monday morning the week before where
they sit in the points. Do we really want to watch one of the guys
from the Roucsh stable win every week. I for one haven't watched
more then the time it took for Mike Borkowski to wreck or run 8
laps down to shut the TV off. Of course I love seeing Ward run
in the Busch series but what he runs is fine and not overwelming.
Why don't we take Grant Hill and send him down to play my local
high school team that is how I compare these guys running with
the Busch guys. Have to throw this one in, Irwin belongs down
there and maybe a step further down the food chain of racin.
BTW there are 5 cup boys racing at Tally and none include the
Rousch boys, thank goodness now I can sit and watch a real
race on Saturday. Damn I have to play in my Club opening
golf tournament, theres always the VCR I guess.
GO MIKE!!!!!!!!!!!!
3/10/2000
Here we go again with controversy over Scanner quotes and also after the fact
quotes. I have seen all kinds of opinions on Jeff Burton and what wonderful
and colroful quotes he had to say about Brother Ward. As far as what is said
during a race please try to remember as most do that it is heat of the moment.
Although saying your gonna kill your Brother and wreck him might be a tad to
much. I have listened to Ward on the scanner and to be quite honest, without
the quotes during some races I would plain fall asleep. When at Dover last year
I heard Ward say if he does it again I'm gonna stuff'm. He was talkin about Dale
Jarrett. Ward was having a sub standard day and was going high for every driver
that was on the lead lap or for that matter anywhere ahead of him all day to get
out of the way. Dale obviously tapped him or came close but it was racin, he said
what he said and it was over with. Ward consistantly gets out of the way and only
wishes the others to comply when he's on other end of the stick. Does anyone
remember a certain Rockingham race where Ward got screwed by Gordon and
Jeff was the Benificiary of Gordon fighting to stay on the lead lap. Now fighting to
stay on the lead lap is expected I still have a big problem with Gordon at the Rock.
This race that Ward was fighting was barely half over and Ward got screwed with
the fuel miliage and it wasn't because of a real bad car.
I see now Jeff had to flap his gums about being better and not equal as in superior
to Ward. Hmmmmmmm, OK Jeff the heat of the moment is over and your still being
an idiot. Do you have to go out of your way to bust on your brother to pump up your
own ego?? Heres the deal, you won three races do to rain, one of witch your car
would not have made it around for one more caution lap. So you and your tiny little crew
chief communicate so well you can make it rain when you get to the front.
Take your damn No Bull 5 Millions, race your ass off
and keep your Ford modified new accomidating trimmed
down accent for the public mouth shut.

WELCOME TO THE 2000 SEASON
Well here we are, another year of racin and things haven't changed. Oh NASCAR has
changed making the shocks and springs standard for Daytona. If Daytona wasn't a
boring enough race now they plain took the Crew Chiefs out of the equation. They say
it has made the drivers more comfortable, of course it has and now they can fall asleep
just like us fans. Like McRenolds said "They my as well put cotts in the stands". I have to
admit I was on the edge of my seat only because you just never know when someone is
gonna make a dumb move. Daytona quite frankly is a boring race except for the BIG ONE.
To me the definition of the BIG ONE is not racin so it is completely boring. The only reason this
race is so beloved is that it starts off the season. They call it the Super Bowl of racing, I just
figured out why if you remember the Super Bowls of past you will remember playing darts
or going into the kitchen at half time and totally forgetting that the game was even on. Now I
will never go in another romm for the 500 but come on lets start off the season with a real race.
Three guys get nailed by there drivers coming in or out of the pits. I'm no expert or have I ever
claimed to be on anything involving racing. But I guess now they can leave the tires laying on Pit
road as long as there on there side. Well have you seen how this has worked so far. Gibbs got the
worst of this deal. First Bobby's crew left a tire where they can and Tony tears out of his pit and gets
the tire caught in the front of the car. Then as Tony is pulling out of his pit the tire carrier gets nailed
because of trying to clear the tire from his path. Not to bust on Tony but if theres somthing in front of
you, TURN RIGHT!!!
Now as far as the crap on the Ward baord as of late, were not here to trash or be trashed.
I do my share Whipping but I hopes it's somewhat constructive and if you want your turn go
ahead and let us know you'll be entered to do a whip yourself. Trashing is not what we want here.
Constructive critisizm is a good thing but just plain trashing is N.G.
11/15/1999
Well Well Well
I believe I have started out a whip session before on this note. I also believe that
it was about Tony Stewart. Irregardless Tony has now broken every record there is for a
rookie and made himself the new Jeff Gordon. Hmmmmmm, good for you. Now remember
Tony took out Andretti at Pocono very early flying into the corner to hard, then Jeff Burton
the very same way I forget what track. He wins his third race of the year doing the very same
thing. Not only taking a great driver out of a chance for the WC Championship but it was
his Team mate. Tony was my 2nd. favorite driver, I even told two of my buddies who were
new in the game last year in the middle of the season that if you want to start fresh and grab
a rookie Tony is the man. Now I know that I shouldn't even have a second driver and that
has ended PERIOD!!!!!!! Is this the future of NASCAR? Having guys just plain run over
other drivers. Yes I think so. The Mark Martins and Ward Burtons seem to be old school
with class that will just not get it done. Ward might have had his win againts Brother Jeff
if he had done what Earnhardt did to Terry at Bristol.
NOW ABOUT THE TV DEAL
First the first race for:
No
Broadcasting
Capabilities
Well at least they didn't have Bryant Gumble do it. You have Joe Gibbs in the tower, thanx
NBC I wanted to hear all about Gibbs racing all day. Bad enough we have to put up with
Ned talkin about his boy now we had to endure every little detail about Gibbs Racing.
I really don't care about how much your crew owes you idf they don't crack out better
then a 18 second pit stop. Mike Wallace wasn't so bad I'll rank him with Ricky Craven
when he was getting over a big wreck hang over. Alan Bestwick was great and I do look
forward to him doing the coverage. To damn bad they had a microphione with more gain
on then engines then the commentators!!!!!!!! The guys in the pits were easier to hear then
the guys in the tower. Do these guys listen to there own coverage?? I'll give you the Busch
race, but come on you had a whole day to figure that crap out. I wonder wonder where are
boys from ESPN going to end up. Pat Summeral and John Madden went where the action
was are they going to jump ship and head to FOX??? I wonder wonder.
CONGATZ DALE JARRETT
I would like to take the time to say Congratulations to Dale Jerrett. I have to admit I
have been a race fan for about ten years and was a Dale Jarrett fan, be it a mild fan.
He won at Pocono and of course I'm there all the time although I wasn't for that race. I
guess I went with him because he ran so well, call me a Band Wagoneer. Not really because
I went tp Pocono and told my buddy I was going to pick a new driver and it will be a
Rookie, Ward was one and the rest is Kizmit. Dale is a class act along with Ward and
Mark Martin to mention some of the very few. Both Driving and off the track. Besides
Ward there couldn't be a more deserving driver and owner. Robert Yates took everything
he had and put it all into this sport. He had bad things happen to him including losing
the Great Davey Allison and then Ernie Irvin in a near fatal wreck. Dale came in and
took over the 28 and did well with it and then Robert started a new team for Dale.
He has been great in that car since the first drop of the green and this WCC is his
and no one can take that away from him. He will better then anyone else represent
the Champiuonship with CLASS.
I will leave Irwin out of this portion as to not damper this little tidbit.
10/3/1999
NASCAR
Ok, Martinsville please give me a break!!!! At least at the beginning of the race, Ward
gets to start in front of the leaders. After going a lap down Ward gets his lap back and then he
goes a lap down and Caution comes out and he has to start two laps down and find himself
behind inferior drivers and cars. OH WELL once again things just aren't happening the
way we want them to. As I sit here buzzed out of my mind I'm trying to figure out if what I'm
saying makes scence. My wife is going out with friends for Pizza and I'm sitting here trying to
understand what the heck is up with NASCAR. Ward never had a car to win the race for sure
but, COME ON!!!!!!!! When you let them restart in front of the leaders because they got
screwed by a caution the first time then why not let them restart the second time. They got
SCREWED!!!!!!!!!! Am I wrong here that is my question? After watching
HOLLYWOOD NIGHTS last night I laughed my ass off and figured this has to be a
weekend to remember!!!!! Talkin about the very same movie the night before and seeing
the movie the very next night has to mean something. Trying to go for the MOJO thing as
Sandi often talks about, I never went for that as I have spoke about in the recent past.
As Ward would say OH WELL!!!!!!!! Even getting Ward's Driver Suit on Friday and
thinking nothing can go wrong, for sure as S--- it did. Don't get me wrong but, I'm simply
not happy about what happened today. We are still are in the top ten BUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
TONY YOU IDIOT!!!
First the idiot runs over Irwin and turns him. Now I can't stand Irwin but when you run
someone over and you mess with him over and over again and you never had a car that
could compete you just stay low and out of the way. The fool is right there in the points
and he does an immatation of Bodine and Spencer at Bristol. I have to ask the question,
is Tony running for a Championship or simply trying to prove he is just another Earnhardt
bumping his way to where he he thinks he should be? Irwin took him out plain and simple but
if your gonna mess with inferior drivers you will pay the price. BTW Thanx Irwin, you proved
you don't belong in NASCAR. Oh I almost forgot, Tony is out of anything but maybe 4 more
points fot the weekend, and he ends up taking how many cars out of the race???????????
Ward Burton has been taken out of many races by good ole Irwin and the rest of the usual
suspests but have you ever seen him make a pay back????????????????????
I DON'T THINK SO TIM
8/23/1999
I was expecting to do a plesant whip this time. Now I find myself Subdued to the point of no
return. I was so pumped for this weekend I guess I don't have to tell you all. I had to play in
my Golf league Playoffs first round. I brought my radio and loaded it up with batteries.
My tee time was at 11:10 am. on the East Coast. I figured I'll play a few holes and maybe catch
the beginning of the race. By the time I got to the sixth hole I finally got a chance to check out
MRN Radio. Guess what Ward is in 2nd fighting with Bobby Labonte. I turned it off and went
up and made my Par putt after sticking a 7 iron to within 2 and a half feet on the previous hole
to make birdie. Now I'm kickin serious Burtt here and so is Ward. Can't get any better right?
Well maybe it can. Turned off the radio again teed off on the 128 yard par three and stuck it
8 feet just lipped out the Birdie putt and the Par was conceeded. Being in a very good mood,
I made my way back to the Cart in a hurry. Flipped the on swich of my little life saver and hear
"Ward Burton in the wall" Man what timing. I ask myself, how could I possably go on and finish
the remaining holes. I ended up crushing thie guy I was playing and shot the round of my life.
If any of you can explain that one for me, I will send you my next pay check. You should be able
to but an ice cream cone with it.
I have taped the race and I will not be viewing it. I watched the replay on ESPN and saw
the wreck 4 times. I also heard Ward say on MRN inbetween holes that he misjudged the
air and lost it. I guess our Ward caused his own misory this time around. Bad Luck is bad
luck but this was simple over aggressive driving at the wrong time.
OH WELL, Don't get pissed at me but Ward made a mistake and thats all there is to it.
Thank God he was able to keep from getting crushed out there and no one else got involved.
It would have been justice if Benson was somehow taken out by it, WOULDN'T IT??????
8/10/1999
TONY TONY TONY
First Ward had to let you know what you did back in the beginning of the year. Tommy saying
somthing about racin Sprint cars on a saturday night. This time your impatients almost put him in
the wall. When a driver is passing a lapped car you go with him , not make it three wide when
there is a half a race left. Then we have you almost wreckin our Ward in the pits, man take it easy.
BENNY BENNY BENNY
Benny Parsons has such a love for the sport and I usually enjoy his enthusiasm. I would
like to address some of the basakwards things he has said. First we have Benny saying that
Ward must have only taken gas because there is no way he could have come out 3rd after
the final pitstop. Hmmmmmmm could the Cat team have done such a fine job in the pits
that they could have gotten him out in that position? I think so. Benny why don't you pay attention
to the 15.whatever pitstops the team has been havin for the last 5 races. On RPM Tonight Benny
says that it was Wards fault that Jerrett won by 3 seconds because the rest of the cars had to
get by Ward. Geeeee is this the first time a car tried to win a race???? I guess Ward is supposed
to lie down like a dog just before the Doc puts him to sleep. I know being a Ward fan I can be
bias but, give me a break. Ward has been the best single car team all year and is 2 points from
the top ten, the farthest he's been back all year. Benny seems to always be in shock every time
Ward has a good run. I guess because he doesn't have #88,#24,#99,#6 or #18 written on the side
that he just doesn't matter. There's a new kid in town and his name is Ward Burton, wake up Benny
realize that he is not going away.
TOMMY TOMMY TOMMY
I really don't want to comment till all the news is in, but I will. First we hear Everham is moving
tyo team manager then we hear he is staying right where he is. Tommy is being courted by all
the top teams so it really doesn't matter about Everham. We need to know about a new Contract
and need to hear NOW!!!!! The latest is that Tommy told Ward that if Cat and him sign for a
new contract he will sign also. Well Tommy what the heck are you waiting for???
They are friends and that goes a long way but, money is money and that is the true mesurement
to how loyal he will be. I really don't care if he leaves although I want him to stay. Ward simply
needed a crew chief that had more then an ounce of respect then good ole Hussey. Granted Tommy
is probably one of the best but Ward will survive without him if he chooses to go. I will sit back
and wait to see the out come of all this BS for now. We need to get it done now while Ward is
in the hgunt for the Waldorf if you know what I mean.
I ordered my TUX already
7/26/1999
GOOD OLE POCONO
After going to Pocono for 12 strait races and seeing anything and everything happen
to Ward, I thought I had seen it all. This time out I thought I would change everything
from my Lepraucon Boxers to the following list of things.
1. Switched from Labatts Blue to Michlobe, DIDN'T WORK!!!
2. I used a different set of batteries in my scanner, Damn thing kept quitting on me.
Must have been the power slam on the table from the last Pocono
3. I had to sit in the same lounge chair, Wife wouldn't let me buy another one.
4. HELL, I even parked the RV a different way. Guess what? that didn't work either.
I have come to realize more and more every week that there is no MOJO or any
things one can do to change anything. RACIN is RACIN and there ain't a darn thing
to be done about it. Thank goodness the first race I was ever at Ward had a GREAT
run and thats when I decided to dive in this crazy sport with wreckless abandone.
Ward was a rookie and I picked him that day. It's been a roller coaster ride for us
Ward fans who have been there from the very beginning. Soon it will be the greatest
ride of all time. It's a darn shame that Pocono has been a
FREAKING FRIEGHT TRAIN out of control for the last 11 races.
I flirted with the idea of never coming back to Pocono hoping Ward would have
the run to the end that he deserves but of course it was a fleeting moment that passed
in the wind. Next race there, will be #13 and we all know that LUCK has nothiong to
do with it, I will predict a win next year in June. Now I have to find a tape of the race
so I can see if it adds 10 pounds to this already over sized frame of mine.
PAUSE!!!!!! I'm still Laughing my ass off at myself.
On to Indy and we know Ward tested great there. I would love to do
a whip thats a little more nice.
NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
7/4/1999
Sears Point
Well now I hear from Jayski's page that there will be no more Sears Point races. Now that is the
best thing Iv'e heard about racing in a long time. Of course if it were anyone else but Martin, behind
Gordon we would have seen the 24 car get bumped and passed in turn 11. That turn of course is
the only part of the track worth watching unless you love to see cars sliding threw the P-Gravel or
Flipping in the air off of tires and hay bails. Ward was quoted as saying that Las Vegas and Fontana
would be great for a replacement track. Geeeee I wonder why???? Add Texas to that list for me!!!!
Like Brad said in his whip Road Courses are FAG TRACKS!!!
Daytona
I love it Gordon tells Everhamm that the car is dialed in perfect and he just need's to wait for some cars
and he could fly by. Guess who was in front of him, WARD!!! Thats who. Well later on guess who was
still behind, GORDON !!! thats who. Hmmmmmm, someone else was dialed in too, WARD!! thats who.
Now how many pit strategys were great and ended up either not working or circumstances kept us
away from a Victory? Now I'm drawing a freaking blank, I guess I need to take even more notes then
I do now. Texas for one and of course last night. I was pumped seeing Ward come up through the field
and the coverage he was getting. Just when they were talk'n and show'n him, BANG!!! There goes
another Caution. DAMN!!!!!!!
ENDING RANT
I'm simply sick and tired of Caution finishes, somthing has to be done.
It's funny how they sound surprised when Ward is up there. How many times does the
Man have to run it the top 5 to have gotten used to it. Well the simple reason is they
have there heads stuck so far up the usual guys you know what's that they can't see the light of day.
I think I'll finish on that note befor it gets real nasty.
6/22/1999
WELL, WELL, WELL !!!!!!!!!!! Once again Dale Eranhardt has somthing to do with Ward
being put out of the race. Now of course being at Pocono, you can't see alot of the track. I did not
see the wreck, it was just out of my view. It didn't take long for Tommy or Mike Swain Jr. to say
"Ward got caught up in it". I then proceeded to throw my chair off the roof of the RV that of course
was on the fence once again. I then managed my way down the ladder and threw my scanner on
the table and the batteries went a FLYING!!!!! After realizing that Pocono is Wards best track and
Luck will just not be there I had to laugh. At least he came home under the 30th position.
Dale at least took some of the blame on this one VIA the scanner from a friend who was listening
to him. Good ol' Bentsome was of course involved. I sometimes wonder should I stay
home from one race and see if his luck will change there without me being there. Hell no!!!! I will be
there every race till the cows come home and then some. Sooner or later Ward will have all the right
things happen and the Celebration will be on. BTW I have no cows that are lost, so I guess I'm there.
6/15/1999
With Pocono coming upon us this week I think I will talk a little about Ward and Pocono. The very
first time I went to a Cup race Ward was a rookie and I was a Earnhardt fan. Now I was only a fan
of his because my buddy is one. The race went on and after a while my buddy says thats the Burton
brothers running up front!!! I said who the hell are those guys? He said rookies. I said I think I'll pick
one of them as my Driver because I'm new I'm going new. The rest my friends is KIZMIT!!!!
Ward is the innovator of the shifting into 3rd gear going through the tunnel turn at Pocono. Now that
he has shown that it works some drivers are juoping on that band wagon. We all know Ward has
DOMINATED at Pocono, then the BLOW UP!!!!!! Ward has had the car to beat every race there
and has had the worst luck: Blown engiunes , Bad Trannies, and of course EARNHARDT!!! Yes,
Ward ran low to get out of the way of the upcoming crash by Little and the #3 ran right down on him.
Then you have Dale saying that Ward hit him. This was after the incident at Tally and I think Dale was
still reeling from that and he couldn't admit he messed up. OK I'm, done with Dale.
Ward will win this weekend for sure, you can count on it. We just have to keep the usual suspects
out of the way. You can count on Skinner hitting the wall out of the Tunnel turn after he gets only two
tires towards the end of the race. I will be there at the turn to watch and cheer as long as Ward misses it.
6/7/1999
OK now, I know it's been a long time since my last whip so I'm overdue and I just got back from Dover.
After pulling out of the last Camping section available at Dover almost a mile from the track, I just might
have a little additude. I did notice on that other forum that someone posted about Ward and his bad
language on the radio. That person got nailed left and right about it, very glad I didn't have to end my post
boycott. We are privallaged enough to listen to a private conversation of a driver and his crew. I really
don't care what Ward has to say except I HOPE it's juicy. Can you imagine if you take your average Joe
working at a constrution site and taped his wonderful conversation. Lets forget the fact that these guys are
having normal conversation and realize Ward is driving at speeds of 200 mph. at times and have to deal
with the Skinners and Irwins of the world. Don't get mad at me any construction workers you were just
an example I do plenty of that kind of talk at my place of employment. Just for information sakes Ward was
very clean on Sunday but the Busch he had a few expletives. LOL Of course I laughed my ass off. UH OH
I just said a bad word. I don't think when the good Lord gifts me with a child that he or she will be listening to
Ward on the scanner for a while. Soon enough when I hit my thumb with the hammer and they hear it from
me they will get there own head set. I say my share of bad words and so does everyone else and if you don't
want to hear it there is a funny thing called an off switch!!!!!!!!
After baking in the sun for the last three days, I now know what the term fried as a lobster means.
I asked the wife to go to the sun block 8 after 4 didn't work. Guess what? the 8 didn't work either.
I have been doing the non rain dance all year, I guess since I was there Mother Nature wouldn't
dare try to rain while I was present. It's a good thing that we had met some great neigbors at the camping
section. First the propane didn't want to work and they helped out and we got it working and when
we needed ICE, they came through. Not only did they drive to get it for us they got it at a buck a bag,
better than the standard Profiteering price of 3 bucks a bag. One guy even bought a Ward cuzzi to keep
his beer COLD!!!! Add another Ward fan to the books.
As far as the races this weekend at Dover, Ward had the car but the exaust leak killed him on the
restarts. I believe Ward said he didn't have enough power to spin the wheels. John gave us that quote,
Tahnx John. WC race, what can you say we survived.
In the last couple of weeks I have been talking to my buddy about Tony Stewart and how he will be booed
like Jeffy. Reason being that he will be getting all the Band wagoneeers. Because of Gordon struggeling
and the growing number of new fans to the sport and kids becoming fans. As sure as there will be a new
Star Wars movie every year or so there will be tons of jumpers. What do I see at the track, FANS with
Stewart hats and Gordon shirts, Stewart hats with Earnhardt shirts, and of course Stewart hats with
Stewrat shirts. Tony is my favorite driver NOT closely after Ward but he is a guy I have thought would
be the next Jeff Gordon. I look forward to him competing with Ward and the rest of the ELETE!!!
I believe thats all I have to say this week and thank you for putting up with the lack of updates and the
Board going down.

Well after reading our first Guest Whip from Sward22 I didn't really care to do one.
Fantastic job!!!
At least Johnny Bentsome took care of himself real quick. All our other favorite
drivers stayed out of our way, Thank Goodness.
You gotta love the Bob Vilia Impression Bob Jenkins did for Benny Parsons. The funny
thing is Jenkins is actually STUPID. If you need help with this, Bob asked Benny how
does tape on the grill affect the car? Of course he called Micheal Waltrip in the 7 car
Kenny Irwin. I know Hamm loves to beat on Jenkins but I couldn't resist.
Good ole Irwin raced some what clean so he had to over shoot his pit just to show us he can't
do everything right in a single day.
I was waiting for the comments on ABC leaving the Busch race and I see you all did.
Thank you very much. My e mail is on it's way. I need to ask a question, Would they leave
the Kentucky Derby for a pre race show for the Busch series or W.C. for the matter?
HELL NO!!!!!!!!! Catch you next time Merse

Well I was waiting for the Jimmy Spencer Ham in a sandwich routine but I fell asleep after
the Incident. That man some how is able to run in the middle and gain ground, it's amazing.
I gotta say what a class act NASCAR is by having the kids from the school for the Blind
and Deaf do the National anthem. That was inspiring!!!!
Is it me or is Ward getting better with the Accent? I must just be getting used to it, I hope
the doesn't change, thats one of the many things I like about the Man.
How bout good ole Dale Earnhardt suggesting to NASCAR to paint the White line --Yellow,
will they now call it the Ward Groove???
The first big wreck and who does it involve? A fight at the OK corral between the two major
Home Building supply Companies. Lowes and Home Depot the surprising Rookie and the all
knowing Idiot. I don't belive I have to mention names here. I'll give you a hint " Go back to
the Craftsman truck racing. You gotta love Larry Mac saying he is gonna get it when
the race is over and he better be glad there's alot of race to go.
I need not say anything about ABC but, It is the ESPN gang doing the commentary. Do we
hate Benny and gang or just ABC and how they ignore the obvious?
Some one PLEASE tell NASCAR to do somthing with there page, ever since they changed the
format it has absolutely STUNK!!!!!!

Ward looked like a freaking rookie out there, running into John Andretti. I was
glad to see Ward does a good fish tail not once but twice. Zipping out in front of
the leaders. Thank goodness he didn't over do it or we would have
Tally all over again.
Great weekend for Petty enterprizes!!!! First the Kings truck team pulls out a win
on Saturday. But please during your Celebration, we don't raise the roof in NASCAR!!
Leave that for the 7'10 guys. Kyle makes a race two weeks in a row with good finishes.
Geee if the guy makes a race he actually can drive the darn car. Then you have The
recipiant of Wards tapping John Andretti coming from a lap down to win the race despite
Ned Jarrett saying there is no way he can run the Jeffs down. Oh yeah then Jarrett says
when Rusty was going to get the half way money, that Rusty should get it as long as he
is eligable. Hmmmmmmmm why wouldn't he be? sometimes these guys just kill me.
Don't you just love ANOTHER Jeff Gordon moment and then they go strait to a
commercial with Jeffy winning a race trying to grab his Pepsi. I'm a Coke fan myself.

I know it's been a while since I have given you my opinion but here it is.
Well it was nice to see Ned Jarret say somthing about the Chemistry with Tommy and Ward
and the whole team at Darlington. Tommy makes the Great call thats going to get us a Win!!!!
Zero Tires and Ward ran Great and then one more Car cuts a tire, A lttle Ironic to say the least.
Cautions all day and finally one comes and Ward is on Pit road. THATS RACIN!!!!!!!
Onto my thoughts on Bristol:
Ward runs his Ass off from 38th to the front with a combo of
Great driving and good Pit stategy. Gotta Love Tommy skipping second round Qualifying
and going for the race setup. Ward ran 9th in Happy Hour. Here we go again with the Charge to
the Front of the pack. BTW, Ward did win that "aWARD". As we started on the Second six pack
of races it looked like We could be in trouble. Ward and Tommy of course pulled one out of
you know where. The race gets under way and out of know where Benny gives me a heart attack,
"LOOKOUT Jeramy Mayfield" Man don't do that Bristol is tough enough to watch.
Now we have Kenny Irwin..... Darlington he's a slip'n and a slid'n all over the place. Yates gives him a
Great motor and the idiot thinks he can drive. Did you ever see Howie Mandell on his first HBO special???
